Objects Of The
Group
The
objects of the group are “ the relief of people
with Autistic Spectrum Disorders in particular but not
exclusively, by the provision of support and
information for their carers, and the advancement of
the education of the public in Autistic Spectrum
Disorders.”
Aims of
the Group
- To provide support, help and information to individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorders(ASD),and their families and carers.
- To ensure that membership is open to anyone within the county of Gloucestershire and to deliver a service that is equal in its opportunity for all to access (as set out in our Equal Opportunities Policy).
- To maintain a confidential database of members' records.
- To offer informal support by telephone, to provide a regular newsletter and to hold support group meetings where parents, carers, professionals and other interested parties can meet informally and share and exchange information.
- To invite specialist speakers to attend meetings, workshops and conferences.
- To raise funds internally and externally to further the Charity's aims.
- To arrange social activities for members and their families and to promote social inclusion for individuals with disabilities.
- To give a voice to parents, carers and individuals who have ASD by supporting their rights, communicating and networking with professionals from the Local Authority (Children and Young People’s Services and Adult Services), Health Authority, National Autistic Society, Contact A Family, and other organisations.
- To promote increased awareness of ASD in public, private and voluntary sectors through local and national media and by the provision of an Annual Information Day.
